Efficacy and Safety in Orthobiologic Procedures
America wastes too many healthcare dollars on low-quality, disease-oriented care.

America wastes too many healthcare dollars on low-quality, disease-oriented care.

While the standard in American medicine is to treat disease once it has manifest, our preferred approach is to allow biochemistry to customize and individualize care for patients on an individual basis. Our patented NAMAD® technology for knee arthritis is just one example of the personalized care we offer in the appropriate setting. We always individualize patient care, and we focus outcome measurements with patient-oriented, validated scoring instruments in each case.

Our primary focus since 2006 has been on orthopedic surgical immunobiologics and their role in both acute and chronic diseases. Orthopedic immunobiologics were in their infancy globally when we began what is now our seventh generation of treatments for knee arthritis and partial-thickness rotator cuff tears of the shoulder. We were the first clinic in the United States to offer these treatments. Now, over 1000 clinics nationwide offer the treatments we started or lower quality imitations. The growth of immunobiology treatments is a confirmation of our conviction that these treatments work. It is essential to recognize that the treatment alone is not the only factor and that successful treatment includes placing a high importance on patient selection. Unfortunately, not all patients will be qualified candidates for every therapy, but matching them to the appropriate treatment will provide the best outcome.

In ‘regenerative medicine,’ there are vastly different procedures with very little in common but are often lumped together under the tagline. The extensive array of treatments offered in the field leads to patient confusion. While our clinic offers effective therapies backed by original research, many clinics do not have those same specifications, requirements, or quality in their offerings. Beyond the initial concerns, it also becomes concerning to know what to expect, recovery experience, and possible outcomes. Marrow cell concentrates are the only legitimate concentrated stem cell products. Phillippe Herigou MD, who has used the techniques for over 20 years, has published the efficacy lasting for 15 years. These stem cell products have research-backed evidence that proves a clinical difference for patients.

the different biologics that are currently being used under the umbrella of “regenerative medicine”

This table shows the different biologics that are currently being used under the umbrella of “regenerative medicine”. The efficacy and safety connected to the usage of specific biologics is clear. In order for a regenerative medical procedure to be safe and have a successful outcome it needs to be performed by an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in the treatment. Either platelet rich plasma or marrow cell concentrates can be used but for a lasting result the only possible biologic is marrow cell concentrate.

Doctor Yeargan studied chemistry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before completing medical school and orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Hawaii.

His final training was at the prestigious Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colorado, where orthopedic immunobiologics became his passion. Doctor Yeargan has continued to build on his knowledge base to enhance patient outcomes and design new procedures throughout his career.
